ABOUT KARA

Hi! I am a junior at UC Berkeley studying Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Aerospace Engineering and pursuing two business certificates. I am proud to be a 2025 Brooke Owens Fellow, where I will return to VAST Space as an ECLSS Life Support Systems Engineering Intern after previously working there for an 8-month internship. I also interned at NASA JPL, working on Europa Clipper, Nancy Grace Roman Telescope, CRISTAL, and Carbon Plume Mapper. On the side, I professionally coach high school students for the competitive Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF), where I also competed and published my research during in high school. I co-founded UC Berkeley's American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) student branch, serve as an advisor for SpaceForm, and currently hold a leadership role as an Outreach Liaison for the UC Berkeley Association of Women in Aerospace.​ My hobbies include weightlifting, growing cool plants, cooking/baking, hiking, and trying new coffee shops in the Bay Area. 🚀
